This month's ACM Lifting Lives 'My Cause' web segment feature is 'Resolve to Help Your Country,' featuring Reba McEntire and Trace Adkins. 'My Cause' is an outlet for artists to share their favorite charities, and urge listeners to contribute to them. Aimed at U.S. fans, Reba focuses on the American Red Cross, while Trace talks about the Wounded Warrior Project.
"People have heard me talk before and tout the Wounded Warrior Project and I'm going to do it again," Trace says. "These are the heroes that we as a country have produced and it's coming upon us to make sure they have everything could possibly need, and I say, everything they could possibly want. That's what the Wounded Warrior Project tries to do for these guys."
Trace was presented with the Wounded Warrior Project's 2010 Talkhouse Award, an accolade that he finds a little disconcerting. "It's a little embarrassing, actually," Trace told The Boot. "When I think of the sacrifices that the men and women of the military make in comparison to what I do, it is embarrassing, I have to say."
