The Marvel Comics character Jessica Jones used to be called Jewel and Knightress and possesses the abilities of flight, super strength and physical resistance. The TV version of the character has been described by Variety as "deeply flawed with a biting sense of humor."
Melissa Rosenberg of 'Dexter' and 'Twilight' fame is writing the series that follows Jessica Jones, a former superhero who retires after suffering post-traumatic disorder. She decides to open up a private detective agency and helps superheroes.
Brian Michael Bendis created the character in the series 'Alias,' under Marvel's MAX line. He'll act as a consultant on the series, so hopefully comic fans will get a taste of screwed up Jessica Jones they came to love.
