Blake Shelton is reaching out to farmers in a big way on February 8 when he performs at the World Ag Expo, billed as the world's largest annual farm equipment show, in Tulare, Calif. The concert is a fundraiser for organizations that serve the state's agriculture system.
Blake himself has become somewhat of a farmer at home in Oklahoma. "I actually have a garden that I grow that has sweet corn in it ... squash, zucchini, I got a bunch of different types of watermelons that I don't even know what some of the names are ... cantaloupes, okra, cucumbers," he told fans during an online chat. "In fact, Miranda [Lambert] gets so fed up as soon as I get home off the road, I'll spend hours out there weeding and stuff because stuff has taken over my garden since I've been gone. I truly am into growing stuff like that. I don't know why, but maybe because I didn't grow up as a farmer but somebody who drove down the road wondering how they did all that."
