The 100 biggest Americana albums of the year have been announced, spotlighting the best in alternative country, roots-rock, folk, blues, bluegrass and everything in between. The top three Americana albums of the year are an Oscar-winning soundtrack, a daughter's gift to her late father, and a legendary songwriter's latest.
Topping the list, which was compiled by the Americana Music Association and based the Americana Airplay Charts from November 17, 2009 - November 15, 2010, is the the 'Crazy Heart' soundtrack, featuring the Academy-Award-winning Best Original Song, 'The Weary Kind,' by Ryan Bingham.
"I'm glad to do my part and help out," songwriter and 'Crazy Heart' cast member Ryan told Spinner of the film and soundtrack's award-winning ways. "But at the end of the day, nothing's really changed. I go to bed in the same bed and wake up in the same place and put my pants on one leg at a time and don't get too worked up over it."
