Obama Justifies U.S. Intervention In Libya (LA Times)
President Barack Obama told a skeptical American public that he ordered military action in Libya because circumstances allowed the U.S. and its allies to halt a humanitarian disaster, but he acknowledged that even a weakened Moammar Kadafi still may be a long way from leaving power. Politico: Republican presidential hopefuls wasted no time in lambasting President Obama's national address on Libya Monday night, taking to the airwaves to accuse him of failing to exercise American leadership or articulate a clear mission and end-game in the north African country. GE, The New York Times, And The Hazards Of 'Tweeting The Record Straight' (Business Insider)
We spent much of this afternoon sparring with GE's public affairs division on Twitter over a New York Times report that GE paid no U.S. taxes last year. HuffPost: In a peculiar gambit, GE's strategy seems to be to use Twitter -- via @GEpublicaffairs, a still uncertified account -- to respond to a random assortment of writers at various outlets totally unaffiliated with The New York Times, who just happened to tweet the story at some point.
Radiohead Releases Free The Universal Sigh Newspaper (GalleyCat)
To promote the release of The King of Limbs, Radiohead has been giving out free copies of a one-time newspaper around the world. The paper includes stories by Robert Macfarlane, Jay Griffiths, and Stanley Donwood. Today, the paper will be given out at select locations in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City and many other locations.
