Just three months ago, Martina McBride announced she was leaving RCA, the record label that launched her career more than 20 years ago, to move to the Big Machine Label Group's Republic Nashville imprint. Considering her huge success on RCA, including selling more than 15 million albums and having 34 Top 40 singles, it was a move some deemed a bit risky for the 44-year old -- but she says once the decision was made, she never looked back.

"The timing just really felt right," Martina tells GAC. "I have the utmost respect for RCA and [former label head] Joe Galante and everybody that's there. I wouldn't be here without them. Personally, it's difficult, but luckily we're all still friends, so that's good. It feels good to have their support. This was an incredible opportunity for me, working with Scott Borchetta and Jim Harnen at Repbulic Nashville. Their excitement and passion for my career and my music is contagious. I can see a very bright future. It feels like I'm starting over in a lot of ways, and that's exciting."

The Kansas native released nine studio albums on RCA, including her latest No. 1 album, 'Shine,' which spawned three Top 20 singles. But in spite of the success in her past, the powerhouse vocalist says she's even more excited about the new chapter that's unfolding ahead.
