Filed under: Emmys, TV NewsIn a very logical move, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences will merge two very similar categories for this year's Emmy Awards ceremony. The Outstanding Miniseries and Outstanding Made for Television Movie categories will now become one.
According to a press release from the Academy, the new category will have six nominees, up from five.
So why the change? According to Emmy rules, if any category does not have enough entries to have five nominees in two successive years, the Board of Governors will review the case. Instead of the deleting the category or leaving it alone, the Board voted to consolidate with another category. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
