Real Housewives Dream Cross-Overs
The Real Housewives are taking over television, one cross-over at a time! I was so excited to see Atlanta Housewives on Ghost Hunters last night, even if they weren't there for very long and didn't see much. Next week, on The Fashion Show Ultimate Collection, the fashion houses will be designing clothes for the Real Housewives of New Jersey and the Real Housewives of Orange County. I'm all about it! I love when we see the Housewives outside of their natural show habitat (showbitat? Let's just let this one go). In the past we've seen the Real Housewives of Orange County (and their kids) on Shear Genius, and Kim Zolciak just made an appearance as a guest judge on Hair Battle Spectacular. Here are some shows I'd like to see some Real Housewives cross into.
Kevin Bacon Plays Kevin Bacon's Biggest Fan in New Ad
Filed under: Reality-Free, FeaturesKevin Bacon is not one of those movie stars that's above doing TV ads for American audiences; he did a really funny "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon"-themed ad for Visa in the early '00s and he got repeatedly rejected by Michael Jordan in a Hanes ad.
But there, Kevin was playing "famous actor Kevin Bacon." In this new ad for the new Google TV device from Logitech, Bacon takes it one step further, playing Kevin Bacon's biggest fan.
If this were just a random actor playing the 'Footloose' star's biggest fan, proudly displaying his needlepoint portraits of Bacon while surrounded by posters of his movies, the ad would be creepy. But because Bacon plays the guy, it feels even more creepy.
But, you know what? It's so creepy that it's circled back to being funny again. The ad and more after the jump. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

McCain Blames Times For WikiLeaks (Daily Beast)
John McCain is upset about the huge pile of secret diplomatic cables that hit the press this week. And he isn't just blaming WikiLeaks. The Arizona Republican points an accusing finger at the American newspaper that obtained the cache of documents and is publishing them in nine lengthy installments. "I wish The New York Times had chosen not to," McCain says. "It's harmful to the United States of America and our national security interests."

The Great Murdoch iPad Debate (NY Observer)
What's behind the schizophrenic anticipation for News Corp.'s iPad-only newspaper, The Daily? Much of the negativity is tribal. The project is digital -- so print-minded people are bothered. But it's an app, walled off from the open Internet -- so web people are bothered, too. On the other side of the animosity, though, is the fact that this is a news product built specifically for an Apple device.
